Liquid Stranger Is Launching New Record Label Called “Sasquaan”
Martin Stääf, who is celebrating his 41st birthday this year, is above all known for running Wakaan label, of which he is the originator and founder. Born in Verbeng, Sweden, producer came into being Liquid Stranger almost seventeen (17!) years ago, and has released fourteen albums and EPs under this alias, including this year’s Infinity, consisting of… thirty productions.
In 2015, he founded mentioned Wakaan, a label specializing in the promotion and release of freeform electronic sounds – from Mid Tempo, through Dubstep and Hybrid Trap, to total Weird Bass Climates, which are often called as “Space Bass” or “Freeform Bass”. During its 4 years of existence, the label has been responsible for the production/album premieres of Space Jesus, LSDREAM, PEEKABOOO, G-Rex, sfam, LUZCID and of course Liquid Stranger.
Between 3rd and 6th October, the debut edition of the fully sold out Wakaan Festival took place (or in fact is taking place), which hosted such faces as Rusko, Subtronics, Boogie T, Subdocta or Dirt Monkey. During his performance on Thursday, Liquid Stranger announced that he is starting a new label called Sasquaan (we don’t know the official spelling of the word yet), which will be fully devoted to releases of songs in the Downtempo vibes.

To put it simply, the songs of the Downtempo genre consist of calm, chillout beats and melodies steeped in dance music. It is the genre most closely related to Trip Hop.
